The contestants leave Miami for Quito, Ecuador. The morning after they arrive, they head to Cotopaxi National Park and face a Detour. The racers can choose either Wrangle It, in which they must help lasso a wild horse and groom it, or Recover It, in which they must search a field for three items that are missing from a historical uniform. The first team to arrive has time on its side, but the chosen task is more difficult than it initially seemed.
